The media in Quebec praise 2012 red Château de Cruzeau

Jacques Benoît, a writer and journalist from Quebec shares his tasting notes with readers of "La Presse" every two weeks.  He recently reported on 2012 red Château de Cruzeau...

As they have done every year for the past 15 years, Établissements Jean-Pierre Moueix (a négociant  firm), recently organised a large tasting in Quebec City. This was an opportunity for the media to taste a wide range of the firm offers for sale.

Several journalists, including Jacques Benoît, attended this event on the 27th of February and tasted a dozen wines, mostly from Bordeaux.

He was particularly impressed with 5 of these, including our 2012 red Château de Cruzeau  !

He wrote: "This Bordeaux rouge has proved to be reliable (you might say a pillar) in its category for decades. Deeply-coloured, but not opaque, it has vanilla (oak) overtones, as well as leather and tobacco notes it seems to me. Above average in terms of power  and quite tannic, but not to excess, it will gain from a year or two of ageing to integrate its oak.  55% Cabernet Sauvignon and 45 % Merlot. Aged in oak barrels (50% new)”.

Score: 15.8/20
