Château Goumin White

Home > Our Wines > Our wines > Château Goumin Blanc

Located on a slope facing due south, Château Goumin has a splendid terroir. The vines grow on clay-limestone soil to produce very delicate dry white Entre-Deux-Mers that stand out thanks to their smoothness and finesse.

Chateau : Château Bonnet
Vintage
Bottle of 2016 Château Goumin white
Appellation : Entre-deux-Mers

Wine style

Fresh and Fruity

Grape blend

Sauvignon blanc 57% / Sémillon 43%

Weather

2016 was one of the finest vintages in the past 20 years. Winter was exceptionally wet and mild, and it rained a great deal in spring until June. However, the weather changed radically in mid-June, turning warm and quite dry, with cool nights. Ideal conditions for growing excellent wine grapes!

Tasting Comment

Appareance

2016 white Château Goumin has an attractive, brilliant, very pale yellow colour.

Nose

The aromatic and ethereal side of Sauvignon Blanc is easy to recognise. This is accompanied by complex tropical fruit and citrus aromas.  There are also hints of yellow peach, showing that the grapes were picked perfectly ripe.

Mouth

The wine is quite rich and full-bodied on the palate. The freshness enables the flavours to follow through from beginning to end, and the soft, velvety aftertaste is quite pleasant. Well-balanced and very charming, this wine is ideal as an aperitif, with salads, and with all sorts of seafood.

2017 - 2018
