Château Tour de Bonnet exists in white, rosé and red versions. This wine was created to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the construction of a belvedere by André Lurton's grandfather, Léonce Récapet. Aged with special care and attention partly in new oak barrels, a new prestige cuvée , Château Tour de Bonnet Grande Cuvée , now adds to the estate’s range. It will delight people who love rich, powerful wines. It has a bouquet of ripe fruit with hints of vanilla and is smooth and perfectly balanced on the palate!

Merlot 50% / Cabernet Sauvignon 50%.

Weather

Winter and spring were very mild, but the summer of 2014 did not live up to our expectations: it rained heavily in July, and August was much cooler than usual. However, starting in September, a miraculous Indian summer with high temperatures, was very favourable to ripening.

Tasting Comment

Appareance

Its very deep-red, almost black, colour is unusually intense.

Nose

Powerful, elegant, and complex are the best words to define this wine, which features ripe red- and black-berry fruit on the nose. This aromatic palette is rounded out by smoky and vanilla nuances, adding a subtle touch of Virginia tobacco.

Mouth

Although the initial impression on the palate is soft, this wine's tannic backbone comes through on tasting. It has a long, generous aftertaste and superb tannins. It has great ageing potential and will remain wonderful for years. However, you will be just as delighted with its qualities if you prefer not to wait and taste it in the next few months, with red meat or a roast of veal...
