L de La Louvière Red

Home > Our Wines > Our wines > L de La Louvière Rouge

Château La Louvière's second wine, L de La Louvière, is made with the same care and attention as its older brother. This wine is immensely attractive thanks to its roundness and fruitiness. It is produced according to traditional methods with a few modern touches in a prestigious location where art reigns alongside winegrowing.

label of 2013 L de La Louvière red
Appellation : Pessac-Léognan

Wine style

Rich and Powerful

Grape blend

Merlot 30% / Cabernet Sauvignon 70%

Weather

There was record rainfall during the first half of 2013. Spring was very cool, even cold (May and June), and this caused a major delay in vine growth (flowering). Much more clement weather (warm and sunny) arrived in July and lasted until the harvest.

Tasting Comment

Appareance

Very deep garnet-red colour.

Nose

Attractive, powerful, and intense nose of red fruit (redcurrant, wild strawberry), with some spicy, vanilla, and smoky notes.

Mouth

Smooth, concentrated and showing some oak as well as spice (cinnamon) and ripe fruit (morello cherry, plum). The finish is rich, long, and delicious. This Pessac-Léognan is quite elegant, like the château's grand vin . It makes a fine match for chicken, beef, and numerous other dishes...

Consumption period

2016 - 2028
