Will the 2013 vintage be a great year for Château Couhins-Lurton? Once again, we must say the answer is yes!
This year also marked the beginning of a new collaboration between Vignobles André Lurton and the world famous oenologist, Michel Rolland. Assisted by Mickaël Laizet, he now follows the red wines at both estates: Château La Louvière and Château Couhins-Lurton.
Michel Rolland will work in tandem with Professeur Denis Dubourdieu, who will continue to oversee white wine making at all the estates.
A reorganised winemaking team was responsible for this vintage of Château Couhins-Lurton in the framework of a new quality-based programme implemented at all our Pessac-Léognan estates. Revolving around precision winemaking, the new orientation succeeded in revealing, perhaps more than ever before, the outstanding potential of Château Couhins-Lurton's terroir in an especially challenging vintage.
The white wines of this Graves great growth may have had very low yields this year, but the freshness and quality are altogether remarkable.
Date of the start the 2013 harvest at Château Couhins-Lurton :
• White harvest: 17th September 2013.
• Red harvest: 28th September 2013.
