A trip to Epicurus' Garden to meet the stars...

The centre of Bordeaux becomes effervescent in the middle of June, like it does every year at the beginning of summer.  Why all the excitement?  The return of Epicurus and his stars...

No, these are not the stars of the nearby Bordeaux Opera, but those of French gastronomy who pay homage to fine cuisine and those who love it by devising an unforgettable menu every evening at the Étoiles d’Épicure restaurant. This ephemeral venue, located on the Allées de Tourny, is emblematic of the Épicuriales, an event revolving around fine food and wine that celebrated its fifth anniversary this year. 

 Vignobles André Lurton, faithful partners of the Épicuriales, were present at 2 of these dinners during which their wines were complemented by dishes prepared by three Michelin-starred chefs:  Patrice and Xabi Ibarboure, and Nicolas Frion. We were delighted to meet the stars and provide the wines to accompany them...
