An educational tour by the Total Wine & More to Pessac-Léognan

On 10 May, Vignobles André Lurton were pleased to welcome a team of fifty people from the American firm of Total Wine & More to Château La Louvière and Château Rochemorin.

Total Wine & More is presently one of the most important (if not THE most important) chain of independent retail wine and spirits merchants in the US.

Total Wines & more group

Established in 1991 by David and Robert Trone, who opened two shops in Delaware, the group now has more than a hundred supermarkets in fifteen states. The managers of this chain have an overriding concern: to offer the best products (some 8,000 wines from around the world) at reasonable prices. In order to be familiar with the products they sell, they make sure to maintain close contact with winegrowers. Over the years, Total Wine & More have become one of our most faithful customers in America.

They have more than 2,000 employees, including 600 wine professionals. The latter have a very good knowledge of wine thanks to training seminars, meetings with producers, and trips to the world's major winegrowing regions.

Therefore, it was only normal that Total Wine & More should visit the cellars of La Louvière and Rochemorin in the Pessac-Léognan appellation... Two in-depth tastings of wines from Vignobles André Lurton were organised at the end of a very busy day that started out that morning in the Rioja. For information: 2006 red Château La Louvière   and  2009 white Château Couhins-Lurton was particularly appreciated by the group!

Once the wines had been tasted and comments by the Lurton team duly noted down, it was time to hit the road again... Burgundy was the next stop on their European wine tour...
