Michel Rolland is the new consulting oenologist for Vignobles André Lurton!

André Lurton et Michel Rolland

Vignobles André Lurton are pleased to announce their collaboration with Michel Rolland, the world-famous Bordeaux oenologist.

His arrival coincides with the implementation a policy that is now two years old: to improve the André Lurton wines still further. Many technical decisions and investments have been made in keeping with this strategy.

Michel Rolland already provided precious advice for the blending of the 2012 vintage. This initial collaboration will become much deeper for the 2013 vintage, which has just started. This great oenologist will contribute his expertise on many levels: from the vineyard to the cellar, including blending, ageing and deciding when to bottle. He will oversee the production of all red wines. This minor revolution primarily concerns the red wines of Château Couhins-Lurton and Château La Louvière in Pessac-Léognan, but should also have major repercussions on Châteaux de Rochemorin and de Cruzeau, as well as Bonnet in the Bordeaux appellation. This is because all the winemaking teams work closely together...

Michel Rolland is famous around that world. This eminent oenologist, a native of Libourne (30 km from Bordeaux), spent his childhood on the family wine estate in Pomerol. He is thus extremely well-grounded in winemaking and learned to love this profession for a very early age... just like André Lurton. His mentors and role models were Jean and Pascal Ribéreau-Gayon, as well as the talented Emile Peynaud – who was previously a consultant at Château La Louvière ! These factors will undoubtedly account for a very positive collaboration.

Thanks to their cooperation with this prestigious consultant, Vignobles André Lurton illustrate more than ever their emphasis on quality both in the vineyard and the cellar.

Michel Rolland will work in tandem with Professeur Denis Dubourdieu, who will continue to oversee white wine making at all the estates.
