Visuel SME 2020

Vignobles André Lurton are active participants in the first Environmental Management System for Bordeaux wine.

This E.M.S. (Environmental Management System) was created in 2010 due to the impetus of the C.I.V.B. Bordeaux Wine Council. This association brings together various players in the wine industry who are aware of environmental issues and share the same values:

• Preserving terroirs and biodiversity,
• Protecting the health of workers,
• And making quality products to satisfy ever more demanding consumers.

From twenty-seven members to start with, there are now 210, accounting for 17,000 hectares of vines and 30% of all the wines produced sustainably in Bordeaux. Focus groups have been created to define action plans in order to improve winegrowing practices and to exchange worthwhile ideas…

Integrating these improved practices enabled us to obtain internationally-recognised ISO 14 001 certification. However, we did not stop there.

In July 2017, we were granted High Environmental Value certification, which rewarded our efforts, commitments and concrete actions undertaken since 2010.

The Environmental Management System reflects a societal aspiration to prioritise health and wellbeing.

Combining tradition, innovation, and an uncompromising emphasis on quality for over 60 years, Vignobles André Lurton, their managers, and employees are fully aware of the issues facing tomorrow’s wine industry.
