Château Bonnet White

Very Sauvignon, this wine of André Lurton at an affordable price, is an example of "everyday wine": succulent aromas of pear and tropical fruit, nervous and expressive on the palate, clean finish and well-defined . Intelligent, vibrant easy to drink yet.

Chateau : Château Bonnet
2014 Château Bonnet white label
Appellation : Entre-deux-Mers

Wine style

Elegant and Fruity

Grape blend

Sauvignon 52% / Sémillon 33% / Muscadelle 15%

Weather

Winter and spring were very mild, but the summer of 2014 did not live up to our expectations: it rained heavily in July, and August was much cooler than usual. However, starting in September, a miraculous Indian summer with high temperatures, was very favourable to ripening.

Tasting Comment

Appareance

In 2014, Château Bonnet produced a wine in keeping with its legendary reputation. This archetypal Entre-Deux-Mers has brilliant yellow-green highlights.

Nose

It is a pleasant mixture of citrus and broom-flower aromas, with rich, ripe-grape overtones.

Mouth

Its softness on the palate is underpinned by a delightful freshness. The overall impression of balance follows through in a long aftertaste redolent of grapefruit and white blossoms. It is ready to be enjoyed now, by itself or as an accompaniment to seafood.

Ratings and reviews

Bettane et Desseauve :

 - Note :
14.50 / 20

2016 Edition - This is a tremendously classic Bordeaux, in all three colours. The wines are perfectly well made, refined, generously fruity, charming, and well-balanced. There should always be a bottle of Bonnet on the table!

Elle Magazine :

One of the most reliable wines in the appellation. A blend of Sauvignon Blanc, Sémillon, and Muscadelle. The bouquet opens up to reveal intense aromas of tropical fruit (lychee) and citrus, along with herbaceous and mentholated notes. After a straightforward, crisp attack, the wine goes on to show good body and a fine balance between vivacity and a rich softness. Long, fleshy, fruity aftertaste.

4.50 / 5

2015/2016 Edition - Pure expressive nose of citrus (lemon) with floral, mineral, and menthol overtones. Round, straightforward, full-bodied, aromatic, and very fresh on the palate. Beautiful, classic, and very well-made white wine.
