Château Bonnet is one of Bordeaux’s consistently reliable wines. Vignobles André Lurton are committed to making wines that are both fullbodied and balanced, like this Reserve cuvee, which typifies classic Bordeaux. Its faultless pedigree is revealed in its elegant balance, depth and charm.
Rich and Powerful
Merlot 50% / Cabernet Sauvignon 50%.
The weather was ideal in 2005 and produced a superb vintage in Bordeaux. It was exceptionally dry for the region from winter to autumn. Sunshine was substantial starting in late spring. Summer temperatures were high, but there was nothing approaching a heat wave.
Intense deep red.
A powerful, balanced wine. Very expressive nose showing blackberry, black cherry and chocolate.
Rich palate with lovely fruit and excellent freshness. Drink now.
From the heart of the Entre-Deux-Mers plateau, this Lurton family wine is one of the appellation's stalwarts. Firm, upright tannins lend structure to this otherwise simple and attractive wine, made to be drunk young. Decant and serve lightly chilled.
The home estate of one of Bordeaux’s great gentlemen, André Lurton, Bonnet has fashioned a 2005 Réserve exhibiting a dark ruby color as well as sweet black cherry and strawberry aromas interwoven with a subtle touch of herbs, spice, and cedar. Enjoy it over the next 3-4 years. (Robert Parker)
Dense purple colour ; rich, expansive nose with freesia and cocoa notes ; full palate, smooth texture, strong aromas of red fruits and chocolate ; wonderfully fresh.
Round and silky, with some currant, black cherry and light chocolate. Medium – to full-bodied, with lots of fruit and a tight and clean mineral finish. Best after 2009.
I like the rich currant and berry character in this with just a hint of mineral. Medium body, fine tannins finish. Another 2000? (James Suckling)
