Weather
Although the first quarter of 2006 was cold and wet (precipitation in March was 3 to 4 times greater than average), this was above all a hot year – in fact, the second hottest since 1950. There was a brief period of extreme heat in July, but the month of September was very mild and dry.

Château Bonnet Red 2006 glows deep garnet in the glass.
Nose
The nose of ripe red fruits is given complemented by elegant toasty oak notes.
Mouth
Fruity and smooth upfront, it still shows great freshness, and elegant tannins, whose melting structure complements the vanilla note from its time in barrel, for an ensemble which is classy and complex. The wine goes beautifully with grilled red meats. It will be delightful until 2015 and thereafter.

Has a solid core of fruit, with plenty of spice and berry character. This is juicy, with a medium finish. Well done for the vintage. (J. Suckling)
