Château Bonnet Réserve Red

Château Bonnet is one of Bordeaux’s consistently reliable wines. Vignobles André Lurton are committed to making wines that are both fullbodied and balanced, like this Reserve cuvee, which typifies classic Bordeaux.  Its faultless pedigree is revealed in its elegant balance, depth and charm.

Appellation : Bordeaux

Wine style

Full and Complex

Grape blend

Merlot 50% / Cabernet Sauvignon 50%.

Weather

2007 was cool and wet from May to August, and not particularly conducive to ripening for the red wine varieties. A beautiful month of September – warm and relatively dry – meant that the grapes could be picked over a long period at perfect ripeness.

Tasting Comment

Appearance

A truly beautiful deep garnet, glinting on the rim of the glass.

Nose

The nose is rich fruit with elegant oaky touches adding a hint of spice and blond tobacco.

Mouth

The palate is distinctively ripe fruit, smooth and ample. Concentrated and structured, it will age well in bottle but is already revealing some of its secrets:  wild berries, mocha, vanilla and licorice blend together admirably. Perfect with sauces (daube or civet) or with strong cheeses.

Ratings and reviews

14.00 / 20

We loved this wine for its simplicity and spontaneity, as well as some juicy fruit and crisp freshness. No lack of maturity, very approachable. A great deal of enjoyment for the price.
