Château Bonnet is one of Bordeaux’s consistently reliable wines. Vignobles André Lurton are committed to making wines that are both fullbodied and balanced, like this Reserve cuvee, which typifies classic Bordeaux. Its faultless pedigree is revealed in its elegant balance, depth and charm.
Rich and Powerful
Merlot 50% / Cabernet Sauvignon 50%.
Spring was very trying, with considerable rainfall leading to fungal diseases of all sorts. This called for very close attention in the vines until the 14th of July, when the weather changed durably for the better.
Brilliant deep red.
The nose is powerful with hints of fresh red and black fruit such as blackcurrant. A touch of vanilla adds to the elegant roasted and oaky aromas.
The fruitiness carries over onto the palate, where the wine is quite round, with blackcurrant and blackberry flavours. The fresh fruit blends beautifully with the oaky and spicy nuances. The structure is at the same time solid and smooth. This wine will benefit from decanting when young. It makes a great match with grilled lamb or chili con carne.
2016 Edition - Candied fruit on the nose, accompanied by good oak and aromas of spice, vanilla, and coffee. The wine starts out quite fresh on the palate with plenty of volume and body. Pleasant flavour (ripe fruit and spice) with a beautiful silky tannic texture. The aftertaste is somewhat austere and calls for further ageing. 2016-2020. Lamb dishes.
Le Guide des vins 2015 - A delicious, particularly well-made Bordeaux. A real crowd pleaser. Powerful fruity nose with attractive oak as well as hints of sweet spice and violet. Round and dynamic on the palate with a wonderful tannic texture, attractive freshness, and irreproachable balance.
2014/2015 edition - Very attractive black fruit bouquet with roasted, resinous, and green coffee overtones. Attractive and well-structured on the palate with round, tightly-knit tannin and a long fresh aftertaste.
