Château Bonnet Réserve Red

Château Bonnet is one of Bordeaux’s consistently reliable wines. Vignobles André Lurton are committed to making wines that are both fullbodied and balanced, like this Reserve cuvee, which typifies classic Bordeaux.  Its faultless pedigree is revealed in its elegant balance, depth and charm.

Chateau : Château Bonnet
2014 red Château Bonnet Reserve
Appellation : Bordeaux

Wine style

Rich and Powerful

Grape blend

Merlot 50% / Cabernet Sauvignon 50%.

Weather

Winter and spring were very mild, but the summer of 2014 did not live up to our expectations: it rained heavily in July, and August was much cooler than usual. However, starting in September, a miraculous Indian summer with high temperatures, was very favourable to ripening.

Tasting Comment

Appearance

2014 Château Bonnet Réserve is an elegant wine with an almost black colour.

Nose

Both powerful and elegant, the bouquet features a complex range of ripe, well-focused red and black fruit aromas. Barrel ageing has conferred smoky and vanilla nuances, as well as hints of Virginia tobacco.

Mouth

The wine is quite round and full-bodied on the palate, with a fine tannic texture that comes through increasingly as  the taste unfolds. Lovely, long, generous aftertaste.  Great ageing potential, but will also prove to be a treat in the coming months with white and red meat dishes.
