Thanks to expressive fruit – but without excessive concentration – Château Bonnet's red wine is unquestionably charming. In fact, it is a benchmark in Bordeaux. The wine is best enjoyed on the young side, although the quality tannin ensures good ageing for several year.
Tender and Aromatic
Merlot 50% / Cabernet Sauvignon 50%.
Winter was harsh (many days with frost) and spring rather chilly. There was a great deal of sunshine in 2010 and a long period of drought from 21 June to late September, which was favourable for ripening.
Brilliant garnet-red colour with very luminous highlights.
Delicious, with very ripe red fruit aromas. A clear-cut, well-defined and immediately attractive bouquet.
The lovely aromas follow through on the palate, which shows a very seductive roundness. The tannin is smooth and complements the fruit. This wine is fine to enjoy as of now with meat or poultry.
What a success! Very ripe red and black fruit aromas on the nose with spicy, mineral nuances that follow through onto the palate . Concentrated, with silky tannin. Great balance.
