Château Bonnet Red

Thanks to expressive fruit – but without excessive concentration – Château Bonnet's red wine is unquestionably charming. In fact, it is a benchmark in Bordeaux. The wine is best enjoyed on the young side, although the quality tannin ensures good ageing for several year.

Chateau : Château Bonnet
2014 red Château Bonnet label
Appellation : Bordeaux

Wine style

Tender and Aromatic

Grape blend

Merlot 50 % / Cabernet Sauvignon 50%.

Weather

Winter and spring were very mild, but the summer of 2014 did not live up to our expectations: it rained heavily in July, and August was much cooler than usual. However, starting in September, a miraculous Indian summer with high temperatures, was very favourable to ripening.

Tasting Comment

Appareance

This immensely pleasurable wine has a beautiful crystal-clear colour with brilliant garnet-red highlights.

Nose

Appetising hints of red fruit, especially strawberry and raspberry, are released when the wine is swirled in the glass.

Mouth

Specially made to be fruity and flavoursome, this wine epitomises the expertise of winegrowers and winemakers in a vintage considered traditional in Bordeaux. It is very smooth and attractive on the palate, as well as wonderfully balanced, and the tannin enhances the overall impression of fruitiness. The aftertaste is fresh and, once again, red fruit flavours predominate. This wine is ideal with salads, as well as cold or hot meat dishes.
