Château Coucheroy White

"Couchiroy"or "Couche Roi" in Gascon. According to legend, one stormy evening,King Henri IV, returning from the Battle of Coutras, stopped here for a rest. Hewill surely have appreciated this fresh, easy-to-drink wine and enjoyed itsastonishing tropical fruit aromas.  Atrue wine fit for a king!

2018 was one of the warmest years since 1900, featuring above-average temperatures, the second hottest summer to date, and abundant sunshine… Heavy rainfall in the first half of the year was followed by persistent, near-record drought conditions in September.

Tasting Comment

Appearance

Brilliant, yellow colour, quite pale, with silver-green reflections.

Nose

Nose is a little shy at first and needs to be aired before it can fully express itself. Then, it lets out a host of citrus notes such as grapefruit and lemon zest, each more delicious than the last.

Mouth

The attack is very supple. There is a certain roundness and a good volume in the middle of the mouth. A very pleasant freshness is present throughout the tasting and brings a lot of balance. Once again, we find the pleasant blend of citrus fruits (grapefruit, zest) with some notes of white fruits (peach). This white Coucheroy 2018 will be the ideal companion of a blanquette of veal, mussels marinière or a hake steak.
