Château Goumin Red

Home > Our Wines > Our wines > Château Goumin Rouge

Located on a slope facing due south, Château Goumin has a splendid terroir. Grown on clay-limestone soil, the vines produce red wines with the Bordeaux appellation. These are pleasant and have a velvety texture. Then can be enjoyed young, but also age very well.

Chateau : Château Bonnet
label of 2017 Château Goumin red
Appellation : Bordeaux

Wine style

Soft and Sensual

Grape blend

Cabernet Sauvignon 50% / Merlot 50%.

Weather

The 2017 vintage was one of the earliest on record. The growing season was marked by a dry winter and spring (46% less rainfall than usual), accompanied by temperatures 2°C above average (except for the frost in April). This dry summer weather was ideal for ripening the seeds until late August.

Tasting Comment

Appareance

This wine is a beautifully intense, purplish-red colour.

Nose

The bouquet features delicious, fresh, black-berry fruit (blackcurrant), as well as hints of spices and liquorice, promising great enjoyment.

Mouth

It is soft, smooth, and very rich on the palate, with unobtrusive tannin. It is an expressive wine, with the same charming fruit (blackcurrant, raspberry) that were so attractive on the bouquet. The overall impression is well-balanced, with lovely length. It is delicious with toasted sandwiches, boneless chicken breast cooked in paper parcels, or a buffet lunch of delicatessen meats.
