Nestled on one of the numerous slopes in the Entre-Deux-Mers, just a short distance from the famous medieval town of Saint-Emilion, Château Guibon has a very long history. The monks at the neighbouring abbey of La Sauve Majeure are known to have made wine on clay-limestone terroir here in the 17th century. This was already much appreciated by connoisseurs. The white wines are light, aromatic and fruity.
Elegant and Fruity
Sémillon 55% / Sauvignon 35% / Muscadelle 10%.
Spring was very trying, with considerable rainfall leading to fungal diseases of all sorts. This called for very close attention in the vines until the 14th of July, when the weather changed durably for the better.
Brilliant and clear, with greenish and golden highlights that reflect the light beautifully.
Citrus aromas (grapefruit, lemon) form the heart of the bouquet.
The wine is quite tasty on the palate from the very first, with an attractive freshness that highlights its aromatics. Deliciously fruity aftertaste.
