Château Guibon White

Nestled on one of the numerous slopes in the Entre-Deux-Mers, just a short distance from the famous medieval town of Saint-Emilion, Château Guibon has a very long history. The monks at the neighbouring abbey of La Sauve Majeure are known to have made wine on clay-limestone terroir here in the 17th century. This was already much appreciated by connoisseurs. The white wines are light, aromatic and fruity.

label of 2019 Château Guibon white
Appellation : Entre-deux-Mers

Wine style

Fresh and Fruity

Grape blend

Sauvignon blanc 75% / Sémillon 25%

Weather

2019 was marked by a fairly mild winter, resulting in early bud break. Spring rainfall was scarce and drought conditions set in in early summer. Rainfall in August provided a welcome relief for winegrowers.

Tasting Comment

Appearance

Crystal clear, a beautiful pale yellow with some green reflections.

Nose

With nice intensity, the nose reveals delicate aromas of white fruit (pear) and citrus fruit.

Mouth

Fine, straightforward attack. Good roundness and mouthfeel on the mid-palate. The finish is long, with a pleasant freshness. Very well balanced, accompanied again by the delicious aromas of white fruit already perceived on the nose.  It will be enjoyed served with pan-fried Asian prawns, chicken with mustard en papillote or goat cheese.

2021 - 2024
