Nestled on one of the numerous slopes in the Entre-Deux-Mers, just a short distance from the famous medieval town of Saint-Emilion, Château Guibon has a very long history. The monks at the neighbouring abbey of La Sauve Majeure are known to have made wine on clay-limestone terroir here in the 17th century. This was already much appreciated by connoisseurs. The reds are full-bodied and vigorous, and become smoother 2 or 3 years after the vintage.
Soft and Sensual
Cabernet Sauvignon 50% / Merlot 50%.
2016 was one of the finest vintages in the past 20 years. Winter was exceptionally wet and mild, and it rained a great deal in spring until June. However, the weather changed radically in mid-June, turning warm and quite dry, with cool nights. Ideal conditions for growing excellent wine grapes!
Attractive, clear, and vibrant red colour with purple highlights.
Expressive, very enticing bouquet with plenty of of red fruit aromas (redcurrant, cherry, etc.).
Beautifully round and full-bodied on the palate. Lovely fresh fruit flavours with well-integrated oak. A real treat! Especially enjoyable with delicatessen meats and quiches.
2019 - 2022
