Château Tour de Bonnet Grande Cuvée Red

Château Tour de Bonnet exists in white, rosé and red versions. This wine was created to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the construction of a belvedere by André Lurton's grandfather, Léonce Récapet. Aged with special care and attention partly in new oak barrels, a new prestige cuvée, Château Tour de Bonnet Grande Cuvée, now adds to the estate’s range. It will delight people who love rich, powerful wines. It has a bouquet of ripe fruit with hints of vanilla and is smooth and perfectly balanced on the palate!

Chateau : Château Bonnet
label of 2010 Château Tour de Bonnet Grande Cuvée red
Appellation : Bordeaux

Wine style

Rich and Powerful

Grape blend

Cabernet Sauvignon 50% / Merlot 50%.

Weather

Winter was harsh (many days with frost) and spring rather chilly. There was a great deal of sunshine in 2010 and a long period of drought from 21 June to late September, which was favourable for ripening.

Tasting Comment

Appareance

Brilliant, vivid, red colour.

Nose

Powerful bouquet, with hints of fruit such as Morello cherry. The oaky notes that characterised this wine in the first few months, gradually develop, contributing an interesting complexity of smooth vanilla aromas.

Mouth

The wine is soft, round and well-balanced on the palate. The finish is full-bodied, almost heady. The spicy and tarred character paves the way for a surprisingly intense, long aftertaste, which places it among the most pleasant wines in the appellation. A delightful wine, which goes perfectly with red meats, grilled chicken and cheese platters.
