Château Tour de Bonnet Red

Château Tour de Bonnet exists in white, rosé and red versions. This wine was created to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the construction of a belvedere by André Lurton's grandfather, Léonce Récapet. The deep red colour is extremely attractive and the smooth, delicious and very soft tannin provides backbone to the long, elegant and fruity aftertaste.

Chateau : Château Bonnet

Appellation : Bordeaux

Wine style

Soft and Sensual

Grape blend

Cabernet Sauvignon 50% / Merlot 50%.

Weather

Winter was harsh (many days with frost) and spring rather chilly. There was a great deal of sunshine in 2010 and a long period of drought from 21 June to late September, which was favourable for ripening.

Tasting Comment

Appearance

Remarkable, very deep purplish-red colour.

Nose

Tasters all agree that this wine is quite delicious thanks to its concentrated fruitiness reminiscent of morello cherry, redcurrant, and blackcurrant.

Mouth

The wine starts out very smooth and appetising on the palate and develops a fine red fruit aftertaste. The tannins are velvety and perfectly integrated which means this wine can adapt to a wide variety of dishes. It is altogether fruity, easy-to-drink and modern, but sufficiently full-bodied to accompany red meats, delicatessen meats and strongly-flavoured cheeses.

A great success! Very ripe red and black fruit aromas along with spicy, mineral nuances that carry over onto the palate. Concentrated, with silky tannin and beautiful balance. Harmonious.
