Château Tour de Bonnet Red

Château Tour de Bonnet exists in white, rosé and red versions. This wine was created to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the construction of a belvedere by André Lurton's grandfather, Léonce Récapet. The deep red colour is extremely attractive and the smooth, delicious and very soft tannin provides backbone to the long, elegant and fruity aftertaste.

Chateau : Château Bonnet
label of 2013 red Château Tour de Bonnet
Appellation : Bordeaux

Wine style

Soft and Sensual

Grape blend

Cabernet Sauvignon 50% / Merlot 50%.

Weather

There was record rainfall during the first half of 2013. Spring was very cool, even cold (May and June), and this caused a major delay in vine growth (flowering). Much more clement weather (warm and sunny) arrived in July and lasted until the harvest.

Tasting Comment

Appearance

Brilliant, lovely, ruby-red colour.

Nose

Very attractive, refined red fruit bouquet (redcurrant, raspberry).

Mouth

2013 Château Tour de Bonnet also leaves a very positive impression on the palate, starting out smooth and round with fresh fruit and blackcurrant flavours as well as a suggestion of spice (vanilla and clove). This charming, subtle wine shows extremely well with red meats, roast poultry and even pizza.
