Château de Cruzeau White

Hand picking, whole grape pressing, and fermentation and ageing in oak barrels with bâtonnage (lees stirring) are but a few of the quality-oriented winemaking practices enabling us to make the most of superb grapes. Featuring fruity and floral overtones, this wine consistently leaves the impression of a vivacious, distinguished wine.

Weather

Spring was very trying, with considerable rainfall leading to fungal diseases of all sorts. This called for very close attention in the vines until the 14th of July, when the weather changed durably for the better.

Appearance

Very pale, scintillating colour...

Nose

An attractive, ethereal nose of vineyard peaches, white fruit, and blackcurrant buds.

Mouth

The aromas in the bouquet also come through on the round, elegant palate. The flavours become more intense as the wine warms up in the mouth. This wine has a beautiful, smooth structure and good length. It is a treat with asparagus in gribiche sauce or stuffed crab.

2016 Guide of good bargains - Beautiful golden colour and a nose of preserved lemon.  Rich and full-bodied on the palate with an expressive aftertaste. 2012 white Château de Cruzeau is at its peak and sold at a very reasonable price. (Gerbelle and Maurange)

This 2012 white comes from the stable of well-known estates of André Lurton. Notes of honeysuckle, mandarin orange and delicate pineapple are all present in this medium-bodied, deliciously fruity, concentrated, dry white wine. Drink it over the next decade. Drink : 2015-2025.

2015 Edition - This pure Sauvignon Blanc has a clear, brilliant pale yellow colour.  The intense, complex, and elegant bouquet features hints of vanilla, pineapple, citrus, and flint. The wine is quite balanced on the palate too, which perfectly combines richness, ripe fruit, youthful vivaciousness, and freshness from the terroir. A very beautiful, classic wine. 2015-2020 / Bass in fennel.
