Nature has been especially generous to Château de Cruzeau, whose superb gravel rises with perfect sun exposure were predestined for winegrowing. Such natural gifts could only produce an elegant wine reflecting one of the finest terroirs in the Pessac-Léognan appellation. The men and women who have made wine at Cruzeau since the 17th century have always worked hard to bring out its intrinsic personality and bouquet with hints of truffle and forest floor.
Soft and Sensual
Cabernet Sauvignon 55% / Merlot 43% / Cabernet Franc 2%.
2007 was cool and wet from May to August, and not particularly conducive to ripening for the red wine varieties. A beautiful month of September – warm and relatively dry – meant that the grapes could be picked over a long period at perfect ripeness.
Garnet-red colour with some bricking.
Very seductive bouquet with strawberry and raspberry jam aromas. Vanilla overtones appear with aeration.
Delicious wine with flavours of very ripe red fruit and sweet spices such as clove and cinnamon. The tannin is still a little granular, but the overall impression is of considerable vivaciousness and freshness. (Johanna Dayer - July 2013)
Special "Wines Fair"- Some of the best châteaux in Bordeaux are located in the Pessac-Léognan appellation, in the northern part of the Graves region, featuring naturally gravelly and well-drained soil. Such terroir is ideal for producing this type of wine with a strong personality, as well as smooth tannin, a beautiful texture, and a lovely fruity flavour.

This is a charming, elegant Pessac red. Upfront, the nose is expressive, a cornucopia of ripe black fruit and some classy oak. The palate is smooth, opulent, with melting tannins and good length.
