Château de Quantin White

Vines have been grown on Château de Quantin's gravelly rises since the 17th century. These produce delicious, fruity, dry white wines with great aromatic expression. This fresh, crisp Pessac-Léognan can also be enjoyed young.

label of Château de Quantin 2013 white
Appellation : Pessac-Léognan

Wine style

Fresh and Fruity

Grape blend

100% Sauvignon blanc.

Weather

There was record rainfall during the first half of 2013. Spring was very cool, even cold (May and June), and this caused a major delay in vine growth (flowering). Much more clement weather (warm and sunny) arrived in July and lasted until the harvest.

Tasting Comment

Appearance

Lovely, brilliant, pale yellow colour with green highlights.

Nose

The bouquet is quite expressive, with a complex combination of citrus (lemon) and tropical fruit (pineapple, lychee), along with subtle hints of white flower (acacia blossom).

Mouth

Starts out very vivacious and beautifully fresh on the palate with a good long aftertaste.  Very seductive. Plenty of Sauvignon Blanc fruit. The aromatic complexity on the nose follows through on the palate with attractive fruity flavours and citrus overtones. This delicious wine is just the ticket for fish, shellfish, and risotto.
