Château de Quantin Red

Home > Our Wines > Our wines > Château de Quantin Rouge

The vines at Quantin grow on deep gravel to produce a red wine with very ripe, smoky aromas. This is very elegant on the palate with solid, well-extracted tannin and an attractive personality in all vintages.

label of 2017 Château de Quantin red
Appellation : Pessac-Léognan

Wine style

Rich and Powerful

Grape blend

Cabernet sauvignon 50% / Merlot 50%.

The 2017 vintage was one of the earliest on record. The growing season was marked by a dry winter and spring (46% less rainfall than usual), accompanied by temperatures 2°C above average (except for the frost in April). This dry summer weather was ideal for ripening the seeds until late August.

Tasting Comment

2017 Château de Quantin is a brilliant, classy cherry-red colour.

The bouquet is particularly pleasant, displaying wonderful fruity aromas underscored by subtle empyreumatic overtones.

This wine is reminiscent of the finest Pessac-Léognan terroirs. It is particularly well-balanced and elegant on the palate while the delicate, well-integrated tannin means that it is a joy to drink, even when young. This wine is ideal with braised fillet of beef, roast guinea fowl or cordon bleu-style veal escalopes.
