Château de Quantin Red

Home > Our Wines > Our wines > Château de Quantin Rouge

The vines at Quantin grow on deep gravel to produce a red wine with very ripe, smoky aromas. This is very elegant on the palate with solid, well-extracted tannin and an attractive personality in all vintages.

label of 2020 Château de Quantin red
Appellation : Pessac-Léognan

Wine style

Rich and Powerful

Grape blend

Merlot 55% / Cabernet Sauvignon 45%

Weather

2020 was marked by very mild temperatures and contrasting precipitation: heavy spring rainfall was followed by an intense summer drought. The fairly mild winter led to early bud break. The summer heat gave way to cool nights in late August, ideal for ripening grapes.

Tasting Comment

Appearance

Medium intensity cherry red colour.

Nose

A nose full of delicacy, with notes of black fruits (blackberry), enhanced by a light vanilla note.

Mouth

The attack is firm. The mid-palate, with a nice volume, is very pleasant. On the finish, the tannins are still a little firm, which brings a nice vivacity and freshness to the wine. It can be enjoyed with duck confit, grilled beef fillet or roast guinea fowl in a casserole dish .......

Consumption period

2023 - 2026
