Château de Quantin Red
The vines at Quantin grow on deep gravel to produce a red wine with very ripe, smoky aromas. This is very elegant on the palate with solid, well-extracted tannin and an attractive personality in all vintages.

Weather
The main features this year were humidity and cold. There were heavy rains in April and May (during the vegetative cycle) and a cool summer, especially in June and August. Warm, dry weather in September enhanced ripening.
Tasting Comment
Appearance
A classic Pessac-Léognan, the deep red colour reveal its concentration and pedigree.
Nose
The nose is immediately intense, complex, ripe black cherry notes blending with powerful roasted aromas. An original and intricate blend of tobacco, vanilla and spice.
Mouth
Excellent balance of smooth tannins and intriguing freshness, equally attractive on the palate. Powerful, lingering aromas, to a smoky finish typical of the appellation, make this the ideal accompaniment to grilled red meats or game. Will age for more than ten years, look forward to even more aromatic finesse as it matures. (January, 2012)
