Château de Quantin Red
The vines at Quantin grow on deep gravel to produce a red wine with very ripe, smoky aromas. This is very elegant on the palate with solid, well-extracted tannin and an attractive personality in all vintages.

Weather
While January and February were colder than average, 2009 was nevertheless a warm year (one of the warmest in a century). There was a great deal of sunshine and a remarkable drought during the summer months.
Tasting Comment
Appearance
This charming wine has a beautiful ruby-red colour with a garnet-red rim.
Nose
The powerful, forthcoming nose has toasty overtones with hints of chocolate.
Mouth
Fully worthy of the excellent 2009 vintage, this Pessac-Léognan is straightforward and youthful on the palate. It features attractive, complex flavours of red fruit, leather and vanilla on the palate. These are underpinned by a fine tannic texture that will enable the wine to age if so desired. It is nevertheless delicious today with grilled red meats. Duck breast would be perfect.
