The vines at Quantin grow on deep gravel to produce a red wine with very ripe, smoky aromas. This is very elegant on the palate with solid, well-extracted tannin and an attractive personality in all vintages.

Winter was harsh (many days with frost) and spring rather chilly. There was a great deal of sunshine in 2010 and a long period of drought from 21 June to late September, which was favourable for ripening.
The 2010 vintage has a youthful, very dark and attractive colour.
The blackcurrant nose is complemented by a beautiful toasty quality and hints of Virginia tobacco.
It is very elegant on the palate, with all the hallmarks of a true Pessac-Léognan: concentrated and powerful with a fine structure and a smooth aftertaste. The finish is long and fruity. It makes a perfect match for roast squab or rack of lamb with thyme. However, if aged for a further 10 years, it will be better suited to game.
