Château de Quantin Red
The vines at Quantin grow on deep gravel to produce a red wine with very ripe, smoky aromas. This is very elegant on the palate with solid, well-extracted tannin and an attractive personality in all vintages.

Weather
Spring was very trying, with considerable rainfall leading to fungal diseases of all sorts. This called for very close attention in the vines until the 14th of July, when the weather changed durably for the better.
Tasting Comment
Appearance
2012 Château de Quantin has a beautiful, brilliant, ruby-red colour with deep and slightly brick-red highlights.
Nose
The nose has lovely fruity overtones, especially cherry and blackcurrant.
Mouth
These aromas carry over to the palate, which goes on to reveal a medley of well-defined red fruit flavours. The tannin is very smooth and combines well with the underlying oak. This wine is altogether well-balanced, with a rich, toasty finish. It goes beautifully with delicatessen meats and grilled meats.
