Château de Quantin Red

The vines at Quantin grow on deep gravel to produce a red wine with very ripe, smoky aromas. This is very elegant on the palate with solid, well-extracted tannin and an attractive personality in all vintages.

2013 Château de Quantin red label
Appellation : Pessac-Léognan

Wine style

Rich and Powerful

Grape blend

Cabernet sauvignon 50% / Merlot 50%.

Weather

There was record rainfall during the first half of 2013. Spring was very cool, even cold (May and June), and this caused a major delay in vine growth (flowering). Much more clement weather (warm and sunny) arrived in July and lasted until the harvest.

Tasting Comment

Appearance

Lovely garnet-red colour with some copper highlights

Nose

Plenty of luscious red and black fruit (strawberry, blackberry).

Mouth

Starts out smooth and pleasant on the palate with spicy (pepper) nuances. Good balance and smooth tannin with a beautiful long aftertaste showing the smokiness typical of the finest Pessac-Léognan. This wine's rich delicious flavour make it a perfect partner for all red meat dishes.

Consumption period

2015 - 2025
