Château de Rochemorin Red
Château de Rochemorin belonged to the great philosopher and writer Charles Louis de Secondat, Baron de Montesquieu, in the 18th century. Among other famous works, he was the author of the "Persian Letters". Montesquieu was a fine ambassador for the red wines of Rochemorin among his friends, acquaintances and the notables he met during his trips throughout Europe, never forgetting to praise the beautiful complexity and mineral characteristics of his wine, so typical of the Graves terroir. Its beautiful aromatic expression, accompanied by a well-balanced and elegant palate make this one of the most reliable wines in the appellation, while remaining very affordable.

Weather
Although the first quarter of 2006 was cold and wet (precipitation in March was 3 to 4 times greater than average), this was above all a hot year – in fact, the second hottest since 1950. There was a brief period of extreme heat in July, but the month of September was very mild and dry.

Garnet with brilliant violet highlights.
Nose
Powerful, with lots of fruit : strawberry, raspberry and cherry over smoky, toasty, vanilla and tobacco notes.
Mouth
Clean, full-bodied and smooth upfront. Silky, melting tannins. Well-rounded, with expressive berry aromas, cassis, as well as licorice. Drink now and for the next ten years. Excellent with dark meats, also sweetbreads with cèpe mushrooms, shoulder of rabbit.

Le Guide des Vins de France 2013 - This 2006 is reaching its peak. It is forward with plenty of tannin, but this is quite rich and fully in keeping with traditional Bordeaux.
Elegant, delicately fruity, smoky nose, very classy, echoed by the palate, soft, accessible, velvety, with fine tannins, plenty of fruit and freshness.
