Divinus is Château Bonnet's prestige cuvée. Our winemaking team has taken the greatest of care every step of the way to produce a wine on a par with the great growths. Made from perfectly ripe grapes, this cuvée displays softer fruit, more body and more pronounced oak when young than the Château Bonnet Réserve.
Rich and Powerful
Merlot 80% / Cabernet Sauvignon 20%.
The weather was ideal in 2005 and produced a superb vintage in Bordeaux. It was exceptionally dry for the region from winter to autumn. Sunshine was substantial starting in late spring. Summer temperatures were high, but there was nothing approaching a heat wave.
Intense, deep garnet.
Smoky, toasty. Ripe berry notes, hints of leather.
Attractive upfront, concentrated and full-bodied. Tannins still a touch astringent, needs a few more years. Rich, opulent, tannic. Berry notes of cassis, cherry, blackberry. Spicy licorice. Smoky, toasty. 2 to 6 years, drink with roast meats.
The luxury cuvée, the 2005 Divinus, is a blend of 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Sauvignon. It offers a dark ruby/purple color along with an attractive black currant, licorice, smoke, and underbrush-scented, bouquet. Medium-bodied and fruity with excellent depth and length, it should age nicely for 7-8 years. (Robert Parker)
Fresh and attractive, with berry and currant character. Full-bodied, with velvety tannins and a light vanilla and berry aftertaste. Best after 2012.
