Divinus de Château Bonnet Red

Divinus is Château Bonnet's prestige cuvée. Our winemaking team has taken the greatest of care every step of the way to produce a wine on a par with the great growths. Made from perfectly ripe grapes, this cuvée displays softer fruit, more body and more pronounced oak when young than the Château Bonnet Réserve.

Chateau : Château Bonnet
label Divinus de Château Bonnet rouge 2009
Appellation : Bordeaux

Wine style

Rich and Powerful

Grape blend

Merlot 80% / Cabernet Sauvignon 20%.

Weather

While January and February were colder than average, 2009 was nevertheless a warm year (one of the warmest in a century). There was a great deal of sunshine and a remarkable drought during the summer months.

Tasting Comment

Appearance

Very intense colour with crimson highlights.

Nose

Made from a blend of Château Bonnet’s finest plots of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon , Divinus features fine aromas worthy of its origins. The intense bouquet has a host of different aromas –  black fruit, leather, spice, and vanilla – that combine impressively well.

Mouth

Plenty of substance on the palate, which is full-bodied and powerful with tightly-knit, but also smooth tannin. This wine is altogether charming at the present time, with underlying flavours reminiscent of black fruit jam. Cinnamon and spice prevail on the aftertaste, which makes this wine a fine match with such delicious dishes as duck with vanilla or roast partridge with sweet spices...
