Divinus de Château Bonnet Red

Divinus is Château Bonnet's prestige cuvée. Our winemaking team has taken the greatest of care every step of the way to produce a wine on a par with the great growths. Made from perfectly ripe grapes, this cuvée displays softer fruit, more body and more pronounced oak when young than the Château Bonnet Réserve.

Chateau : Château Bonnet
2010 red Divinus de Château Bonnet label
Appellation : Bordeaux

Wine style

Rich and Powerful

Grape blend

Merlot 80% / Cabernet Sauvignon 20%.

Weather

Winter was harsh (many days with frost) and spring rather chilly. There was a great deal of sunshine in 2010 and a long period of drought from 21 June to late September, which was favourable for ripening.

Tasting Comment

Appearance

This 2010 Divinus  has a remarkably intense colour with beautiful garnet-red highlights.

Nose

Château Bonnet's premium cuvée has a wide range of powerful aromas: cooked red fruit, chocolate, and vanilla.

Mouth

The wine starts off quite smooth and soft on the palate. The rich, generous, and velvety tannin is accompanied by flavours of prune, blackberry, and blackcurrant.  The finish is long and well-balanced, providing an excellent match with veal, duck, and cheese.
