Les Lions de La Louvière White

André Lurton chose this name in honour of the two impressive stone lions that watch over the entrance to Château La Louvière. The grapes come from specific plots on the estate. The wine is very attractive: elegant, round and fruity.

Les Lions de La Louvière 2010 white label
Appellation : Pessac-Léognan

Wine style

Elegant and Fruity

Grape blend

100% Sauvignon blanc

Weather

Winter was harsh (many days with frost) and spring rather chilly. There was a great deal of sunshine in 2010 and a long period of drought from 21 June to late September, which was favourable for ripening.

Tasting Comment

Appearance

Les Lions has the same very pale green highlights as white La Louvière.

Nose

The nose is very delicate with floral aromas (jasmine, acacia blossom) that seem to float in the glass. Subtle overtones of oak appear with aeration.

Mouth

The wine is vivacious on the palate, with the hallmarks of Sauvignon Blanc: broom and white flowers as well as citrus zest. It is already quite pleasant, but deserves to age another year or two, at which point it will be wonderful with scallops in a cream sauce.

Consumption period

2014 - 2020
