Les Lions de La Louvière Red

Home > Our Wines > Our wines > Les Lions de La Louvière Rouge

André Lurton chose this name in honour of the two impressive stone lions that watch over the entrance to Château La Louvière. The grapes come from specific plots on the estate. The wine is very attractive: elegant, round and fruity.

Vintage
Label of 2015 red Les Lions de La Louvière
Appellation : Pessac-Léognan

Wine style

Rich and Powerful

Grape blend

Cabernet Sauvignon 70% / Merlot 30%

Weather

2015 was the third warmest year since 1900... Drought conditions, above-average monthly temperatures and sunshine (in the first half of the year), cool nights and hot weather in August accompanying véraison (colour change) were all ideal for the vines!

Tasting Comment

Appareance

2015 Lions de La Louvière  has a lovely, deep, and brilliant garnet-red colour.

Nose

Very typical of the Pessac-Léognan appellation, it features an extremely pleasant bouquet with subtle hints of red fruit (redcurrant), blackcurrant, and tobacco.

Mouth

Rich, satisfying, and well-balanced, this wine will undoubtedly delight everyone who appreciates the best wines of Pessac-Léognan. The red and black fruit aromas on the nose carry over to the palate, and there is a beautiful long aftertaste. 2015 Lions de La Louvière is a treat with beef or roast chicken.

Consumption period

2018 - 2022
